HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FOOT AND CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE

Getting the right roller skate size starts with one thing: your true foot length. A size that's too small causes numbness, cramping and blisters; one that's too big leads to heel lift, poor control and a higher risk of ankle injury. Because different brands and models fit differently, your shoe size is not reliable — always measure your foot in centimeters and use it against the brand's own size chart.

What You'll Need

  • A piece of paper (larger than your foot)
  • A pencil or pen
  • A wall (or door frame)
  • A ruler or measuring tape
  • Someone to help you (optional, but recommended)


Step-by-Step: How to Measure Foot Length Correctly

  • Do It in the Evening

Your feet naturally swell through the day, just like they will during a skate session. Measure at the end of the day for the most realistic fit.

  • Stand, Don't Sit

Standing puts your full weight on your feet, which makes them slightly longer and wider. Always measure while standing.

  • Measure Both Feet

Feet are rarely exactly the same size. Measure both, and use the longer foot as your reference size.

  • Trace and Mark

Place the paper flat against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall, weight evenly on both feet. Mark the longest point of your toes (usually the big toe or second toe) on the paper.

  • Measure the Length

Use a ruler to measure the distance from the wall edge to the toe mark in centimeters (or millimeters). This is your foot length / mondopoint.

Convert Your Measurement to the Skate Size

  • Take your longer foot length in cm or mm (e.g., 25.2 cm/252mm).
  • Compare it to the size chart of the model of FlyingEagle Skate that you are interested in. You will find the size chart on the product page, right under the size options.
  • Size up if you have really wide feet or really high arch. 
  • If you're between two sizes and you want a performance / aggressive fit, choose the smaller; for recreational comfort with thick socks, choose the larger.
